Download the PC row
On the official page, choose “Agent17 v0.26.10 - PC,” not the Android or Mac row.

Extract the entire archive
Use Windows Extract All or a trusted archive tool. Do not run the executable from inside the compressed file.

Open the extracted folder
Launch Agent17.exe while leaving the game and Ren’Py folders beside it.

Load a copied save
If updating, test with a backup while keeping the previous folder available for rollback.
Install on Linux
The official PC row carries both Windows and Linux platform icons.

Preserve folder names and permissions when unpacking the archive.

Make the launcher executable if needed
Use your file manager’s permissions panel for Agent17.sh, then launch it from the extracted directory.

Keep user saves separate
Back up both the game’s save folder and the Ren’Py user directory before replacing a build.
